The Story
I started my first business in Jamaica when I was 23. Like most entrepreneurs, I spent more time wrestling with spreadsheets than actually growing my business.
I tried the big-name software — QuickBooks, Sage, Xero. They all had the same problems: expensive subscriptions priced in USD, no understanding of GCT or Jamaican tax rules, and support teams in different time zones who had never heard of Tax Administration Jamaica.
Then I discovered Odoo — a powerful, open-source ERP that could do everything. But setting it up was a nightmare. You needed servers, technical expertise, and constant maintenance. Most small Caribbean businesses couldn't afford the $5,000+ implementation costs.
That's when the idea for VEDTECH was born. What if Caribbean businesses could get the power of Odoo without the complexity? What if you could just sign up, configure your GCT settings, and start invoicing — all in under 10 minutes?
